THERE IS SWEET MUSIC HERE THAT SOFTER FALLS THAN PETALS FROM BLOWN ROSES ON THE GRASS We found a special place, where birdsong fills the morning air, the scent of orange blossom greets the dusk. Time passes pleasantly under the dappled light of an olive tree and the evening drifts into night with the squawk of a falcon or the hoot of an owl. We found a simple farmhouse which surveys Portelle Valley. Its powder pink almond blossoms and brushed velvet olive trees rustle in the breeze. The simple farmhouse was once used as a rural chapel for Sunday mass. At night the moonlight stretches over the countryside throwing shadows of the trees onto the glowing ground. Herds of sheep amble lazily by the dry stone walls as they would have done over 300 years ago. In this place we feel close to the earth, to its beauty and to authenticity. It is steadying.
BATTIMANDORLO IS OUR DREAM. IT IS A SEARCH FOR A SIMPLER WAY OF LIVING, A DESIRE FOR A QUALITY OF LIFE, TO BE CLOSER TO NATURE. WE WANTED TO CREATE A REFUGE. A PLACE TO RESTORE AND REVIVE. Perfectly positioned between the honey hues of Baroque Noto and the sparkling waters of Vendicari Nature Reserve, Battimandorlo Dimora di Campagna rests in the quiet rolling hills of sicilian countryside. Dating from the 1800s, this organic farm was once a modest farmhouse and country chapel. There are just 5 guest bedrooms, each uniquely beautiful, making this a perfect refuge and allowing us shower care on our each of our guests. Homemade breakfasts and lunches are made with love using the fruits of our orchards and vegetable gardens. Restful patios, niches and nooks, nature walks, and an infinity pool which pours into the rolling hills below.
